“Thirty, flirty and thriving.”

The line recited by Jennifer Garner’s character Jenna Rink in the 2004 film 13 Going on 30, is iconic. Thirty can be a terrifying number for many. As a 22 year old, I believe that 30 is the age of actual adulthood. And, by the time I reach 30, I hope to have at least something figured out in my life. Thirty year olds have their lives together, right? Just like Jenna Rink, “thirty, flirty and thriving” is a fantasy for many people.

But forget all of that. I’m twenty (-two), drinking a lot of venti-sized coffee and simply trying. Say it with me, “twenty, venti and trying.”

Let’s be honest, being a millennial (or a Gen Zer) is hard. I mean, killing the diamond industry, chain restaurants and department stores isn’t easy. It takes a lot of avocado toast, cold brew and sarcasm to brutally murder everything that Baby Boomers love the most.

But all jokes aside, being in your 20s can be difficult. It’s an in-between decade of ages where some of your peers are still in college and going to high school parties, while others are married, have two kids, a house and a career. Just remember that whatever stage you’re at, you’re right on track.

There’s no timeline for life.

Something that helps me get through life is writing, which is where this blog comes in. This will be my space for all my unwanted opinions, book and movie reviews and rants about my daily life.

I hope you join me for this journey, or you can adventure on your own. I’m just twenty, venti and trying.
